Welcome to OSports.
OSports - Osborn Sports + Recreation Architecture has a rich heritage of sports and recreation planning and design dating back to 1909, when the firm designed League Park, the first home of Cleveland's major league baseball teams, including the Spiders, the Buckeyes of the Negro Leagues, and the Cleveland Indians.
Since then, we've been privileged to design some of the nation's most beloved venues: the original Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Cleveland Municipal Stadium and old Comiskey Park. More recently, OSports has provided master planning and architectural and engineering services for OSU's beloved Horseshoe, Midland Lutheran College's Event Center, Heritage Park at Progressive Field, and the Ballpark at Avon (Ohio).
The firm also specializes in designing facilities for small- to medium-size colleges, universities, schools and communities. Recent projects include Cleveland State University Viking Basketball Center, Hudson High School Stadium, Wright State University Rinzler Athletic Complex, Midland Lutheran College Event Center, the City of Strongsville Recreation Center, Earlham College Stadium and Master Plan, Concordia College Athletic Master Plan, and John Carroll University's Don Shula Stadium.
We have been pioneers in our profession since the inception of our firm in 1892. OSports' innovation milestones include:
- The first concrete sports stadiums, which replaced the fire-prone wooden structures common in 1909
- The larger, double-deck stadium design seen at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park
- The second generation of stadiums, engineered by cantilevering the upper decks to remove view-obstructing columns
With the rapid changes in technology and materials, and the continually evolving sustainable design possibilities, we are committed, more than ever, to the spirit of innovation.
